Chewin' the Fat - Dialogue immersion project.
The goal of this mod is to provide the framework for a base npc interactive dialogue, providing many NPC's in the world with personality and interactivity. This dialogue is applied where immersive and sensible, so don't expect to have a nice conversation with cannibals or fogmen.
Introduce yourself to people and they will give you their name, unless they are cold/cruel. They will remember you and your name the next time that you speak to them, and if you have not seen them in a while you can ask them how they are. Beg for money/food, or be generous with your own. Share your grog and make a new friend. Insult people just for fun's sake. Hunt down rare wasteland smut for a bored and lecherous guard (a different guard every game!) Intimidate shopkeepers into paying you weekly protection money, and possibly have to deal with the consequences of encroaching on another gang's territory (will you solve this with violence, or diplomacy?) All of these actions affect faction relations (within threshholds) and provide a means in game to become well known by a faction by actually interacting with its members.
Another goal of this mod was to create further cohesion between multiple other overhaul mods included in my personal use mod collection found here: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198042406620/myworkshopfiles/?section=collections
As such this mod requires Interactive World, Reactive World, General Modifications, and Universal Wasteland Expansion.
This mod began as an overhaul of the mod Interactions+ by NEO found on the Nexus, and has grown from there. Three thumbs up that author for the inspiration.
It is a work in progress and many new features are actively planned, such as being able to invest into shops for various benefits.
